In China, there is dog meat festival and it has
sparked heated debate between dong meat-eaters and animal rights activists. Dog meat is tradition in China. And people who eat dog say that dogs are
friends as well as food. But people who love dog say that this festival is so
cruel and unethical.
Persuasive:
I think
we have to stop dog meat festival. Dogs are
companion animal. We keep them and share our feeling and emotion. And it is
unethical. When people kill the dog to eat, they use electric shock and for
delicious, they kill dog alive. Finally the distribution process of dog meat is
bad hygienic. Dog meat is not good for
our health. So I don’t agree dog meat-eaters. Dogs are friends, not food.

This little card is why people in Hong Kong
don’t carry cash.
Summary:
The
smart card is useful and it shows future finance future trends. Smart
card makes everything is okay with no cash and society to high-speed trading. In Hong Kong, the smart card is called
Octopus card. Around 95% of people in Hong Kong use it and they don’t need
cash. People don’t worry when they forgot their wallet, purse or cash. So
people don’t need to carry their cash any more.
Persuasive:
Like Octopus card, there are many smart cards
in Korea. We can buy everything with the card. It is very simple to use and useful.
But it encourages excessive consumption. Because we cannot realize how much money
we spend. So when we use this card, we have
to make limit ourselves.

3. Good-bye to guanxi in Chinese job market.
Summary:
In Chinese,
the word guanxi used to be a neutral word, meaning the connections between
people or objects and meaning the use of connections as a means of gaining an
advantage over others. Some people use personal guanxi to get a job. Guanxi reduces the job opportunities. And it is not
fair. So guanxi should not be promoted among college students who want job.
Persuasive:
I agree that guanxi should not be promoted. If
the competition is dependent on a student’s background rather than ability, it
is unfair. Using guanxi may find job easier but it makes too much work than
ability. And this reduces the efficiency of the work and also makes bad
influence to the company. Therefore guanxi is to be stopped, and the company
should be evaluated job seeker’s skills and talents, not background.

Football fans in China buy fake sick notes ahead
of World Cup
Summary:
China and Brazil,
the time difference is 11 hours. At damn there are people who watch the World-Cup
in china. And they want to avoid the work. So some people who love football buy
fake sick notes. It is cheap ($3), popular with collage students and office workers.
Persuasive:
The reason why I choose this article is I like
soccer so I sympathize that. I agree it is tired to look World-cup games at damn.
If I see the game live, I probably snooze in the class or late the class. But lying
is bad. I’ll explain honestly and I get paid for my actions.
